2025 Introduction to Beekeeping Class February 22nd & March 1st. Flyer is at the bottom of page.

Beekeeping Supplier: Skipper Luttrell from 777 Apiaries will be at our Introduction to Beekeeping Class to sell beekeeping supplies March 1st. Skipper sells about everything a beekeeper could need. His price sheets and contact information are on our Resources page. He will be donating 10% of his sales and preorder pickups for the day of our class to our club. You do not have to be a member or attend the class to pre order or buy from him that day.

Beekeeping Supplies Discount: Skipper Luttrell will give 5% off of everything he sells (except live bees) to those that make a $10.00 donation to the club. You can use this 5% discount for purchases made through the end of the year. This CANNOT be applied to items purchased or picked up the day of the class. You do not have to attend the class or be a club member to participate. Skipper is usually in Lewisburg Monday -Friday.  You can make your donation at a monthly meeting, the class, or mail it to our treasurer Nancy Warden 2190 Palmetto Cemetery Road Lewisburg TN 37091. Be sure to include a note letting her know what the check is for and a phone number or email address so we can let you know we received it.

2025 Club Nuc Order:

We will be doing two club bee orders this year. We do these orders each year to raise money for the club and as a convenience for beekeepers to pick up your bees in Lewisburg, rather than driving to Nashville or Lawrenceburg. $10.00 per nuc or package will go to the club for delivering your bees and is included in the price. If there are issues with your bees, you will have to address that directly with the supplier.

If you are looking for Valentines gift ideas for that beekeeper in your life, Here you go!!!

·     The early order will come from Fox Honey Farm.

·     This will allow you to get ahead of the honey flow and produce more honey.

·     These are 5 frame deep nucs with a young (born late winter in FL) unmarked Buckfast queen.

·     The cost is $190.00 per nuc.

·     The pickup date & time are subject to change dependent upon the supplier but as of right now it is scheduled for March 22nd. I expect to be back in Lewisburg with the bees around 5:30 PM.

·     I will send a text message when I leave Nashville which will give you a 1-hour E.T.A.

·     If you want to participate, go to the website ( Fox Honey Farm Nashville Pick Up) to place your order and to pay your $30.00 (per nuc) nonrefundable deposit.

·     Be sure to put, Marshall County Beekeepers Association in the “order comments” box. That will keep our order together and ensure the large order discount.

·     Before clicking on “pay”, confirm that you are ordering for the Nashville pick up and that you put Marshall County Beekeepers Association (do not abbreviate) in the “order comments” box.

·     After you place your order, send an email to mc.beekeepers.association@gmail.com with your name, a cell number and the quantity you ordered.

·     He usually sells out around the end of February, so I encourage you to order A.S.A.P. if you are interested.

·     If you do not have the ability to order online, I will try to work with you. Call me (Derrick) at 931-993-0146.

·     The second bee order will come from Skipper Luttrell and is expected to arrive around Late April to early May. These queens are overwintered (born late summer in TN) and are not marked.

·     This order will allow for more time to order and to get ready for your bees. Last year we were still able to place orders up thru mid-April. Also, you will be supporting a local beekeeper.

·     Skipper has deep and medium nucs in a variety of breeds as well as packages. Below are the prices.

·     Deep and medium nucs:

·     Italian Mutt: $175.00

·     Caucasian: $260.00

·     Carniolan: $250.00

·     Russian: $190.00

·     Pure line Italian 3 lb. package $150.00

·     If you would like to participate in this order, a $30.00 nonrefundable deposit per nuc or package is required.

·     You can place your order and pay your deposit at a monthly meeting or mail it to Derrick Crump 1041 Double Bridge Rd. Lewisburg, TN 37091.

·     Make checks payable to Marshall County Beekeepers Association.

·     Include a note specifying: deep or medium nuc and the breed or Italian package. Be sure to include your name and a cell number I can contact you on, on pickup day. I will send a text when I leave Lawrenceburg which will give you a 1-hour E.T.A.
